TRANQUILLITY IN CRETE.

Athens, January 24. Prince George of Greece, the recentlyappointed Governor of Crete, lias visited a number of tbe Christian churches, and also the Mahommedan mosques in the principal towns of the island. The visits were made amid indescribable enthusiasm on the part of the populace. Christian women and children scattered flowers and perfumes along the Governor’s path. The Moslems appear quite reconciled to the new order of affairs.
