THE BISLET MEETING. Press Association. Sydney, October 19. It is a blazing hot day. At noon there was a strong wind flopping about treacherously, but a southerly change occurred within an hour. SPLENDID SHOOTING BY KING. HE WINS THE "MANNING MATCH. Beoclved October 19« 0.10 p.tn. Sydney, October 19. The wind continued tricky all the afternoon. The Sydney Match, 10 shots at 700yds, was won by Donlan, of New South Wales, with 46. The New Zealand scores were : —Maogregor and Hale, 38 ; Spinley, 36 ; King, Wilson (Woodville), 31; Wilson (Wellington) and Ballinger, 29; Orr, 25. Macgregor and Hales secured £1 each. The Manning Match, 7CD and 800 yards, seven shots at each, was won by King with the fine score of 67 out of 70. A crowd centred round the Oamaru shot as he approached 63, the best previous score. With his two last shots he obtained bull’seyes, and the onlookers cheered the first win of the New Zealanders.. The scores of New Zealanders were;—

Gommina, of Ballarat, won the Assentation Aggregate.whioh comprised the Paddington, Eandwiok and Sydney Matches, with 131. Draper, of New South Wales, is leading for the Queen’s Prize with 302. King’s aggregate is 281; Maogregor’s, 279; Hale’s, 269; Ballinger’s, 248. The final stage will be fired to-morrow. In the Manning Match King takes a .£lO prize and Maogregor and Ballinger 41 each. Received October 20* 1.35 ft.ro. Sydney, October 19. In the Association Aggregate, Maogregor is twentieth with 121, and takes 43. Wilson (Woodville) secured 41 with a score of 110. Melbourne, October 19. Mr Reid, Premier of New South Wales, has written to the Minister of Defence disapproving the suggestion that teams representing each colony should compete in a rifle match, and the winners be sent to England to compete at Bisley. He considers that such a team would only represent one colony, and would necessarily be weak. ■
