AMUSEMENTS.
Every seat taken and standing all round. That was the condition of tho Opera House last night, when Mr Durwatd Lely, Mrs Lely and Miss Elly Faobs gave their final concert, for th ! a season at least, in Wellington. Mr Lely waa in magnificent form, and his singing, particularly of “ The Death of N el ‘ son,” "The Maogrejr»«’ Gathering” ana ■ “ The Holy City,”, excused his audience to a high pitoh of enthusiasm. Miss Fuohs sustained the greet reputation she has made here as a masterly exponent of classical musio and (accompanied most effectively by Mr itinghan Barnett) took the opportunity of showing another phase of her versatility in the manner ih which sho handled Vieuxtemps’ celebrated fantasia on “ Yankee Doodle,” Mrs Laly’s selection of Scottish airs on the piano was most spiritedly played. Directly after the performance Mr and Mrs Lely and Miss Fnchs went on board the Rotoiti, on their way to Auckland, where they will play a season before going to Australia.
