CASUALTIES AT SEA.

The schooner J. G. Kondio, bound from the Nambucoa Eiver (250 miles north of Sydney) to this port,' has been missing since the recent gale, and it is feared that she has foundered, and that her crew of seven have been drowned. Auckland, May 23.

The brigantine Avatapu, which went ashore three miles south of Whangamata, Eist Coast, is badly stranded, and there is 3ft of water in her hold. The cargo is being discharged, and the vessel may be got off at the next spring tides.
