THE QUEENSLAND FLOODS.
By Telegraph,—Press Association. — Copyright, Brisbane, January 11. The rain ceased last night, but the river is still rising rapidly. Cairns and Townsville are threatened by floods. Railway communication is interrupted in several directions. A SERIOUS OUTLOOK. PEOPLE LEAVING THEIR HOMES. Beoeivec! January XI. 10.10 p.m. Brisbane, January 11. The river continues to 'rise several inches an hour, and it is expected to reach the level of the 1890 flood. The people of South Brisbane are quitting their homes.
