THE OPERA HOUSE.
In Town ” was repeated last night by the Pollard Opera Company to a large audience. The piece met with the same appreciation as on the previous evenings, many of the numbers having to bo repeated; “ BOCCACCIO ” AKD “ DJIN-DJIN.”
To-night Mr Pollard will introduce still another old|favourite. in Von Suppe’s charming comic opera “ Boccaccio.” The cast will be exactly the same as when he last staged it here, and nil the original effects that have made it so famous will bo lifted. The box plan tor the matimSs of “ Djin-Djin ” to-morrow was opened yesterday, and nearly 100 seats were booked during the day. This points to a crowded house, and wo would strongly advise those who intend witnessing this magnificent production, country visitors in particular, to make certain of their seats by booking at once. This will be pos'. tively the last chance of seeing “ DjinDjin,” as all the properties will bo packed bn Thursday next, and forwarded to Dunedin, where the piece will be staged for the first time on Thursday, the 27th inst. We have never had anything placed upon a local stage so perfectly appointed as ” Djin-Djin,” and to miss seeing it would be a loss indeed. The doors to-morrow afternoon will be opened at 1.30, and the performance commence at 2 o’eloek sharp, terminating a little before 5, so that country visitors oan witness the entire performance and then catch the 5.12 train.
