THE RIGHT HON, GEORGE THORN, Ex-Premier and Veteran Parliamentarian, Eraphalicalij Recommends the use of Warner's SAFE Cure. The Eminent Queensland Veteran Statesman needs no introduction. No Parliamentarian is more generally or favourably known throughout Australasia than the Right Hon. Georgo Thorn. All through his brilliant'political career he has advised and spoken boldly in the interest of the people whom he has faithfully served, and now expresses pleasure in again advising, and his years of experience and acknowledged discretion give weight to his utterances which cannot be questioned nor ignored. Parliament House, Brisbane, Nov. 20, 1607. “ It gives rue great pleasure in renewing my testimonial respecting the efficacy of Warner's Safe Cure. Since I gave you the last testimonial I have recommended the medicine to many friends, and they one and all say they have derived great benefit from it, especially those suffering from kidney and liver troubles." (Hon.) George Thorn, M.P. warmer’s safe curb is a specific for I.IVER AND KIDNEY DISEASE. Better to sell an inferior animal (writes Coleman's Rural World), than to breed it, even if it must be sold at a sacrifice. It is a good thing to grade up stock, but a better thing to cull out all below par. Build up the best flock by retaining the best ewes and breeding tn a full blood lamb of good individuality. Get the one best adapted to your locality, and to the purpose for which you’re keeping sheep. Persist in the selection of the ewes, and buy a new ram at least every two years, in order to infuse new blood. Gr C 3 33 : IS HE A TBIDJSE BEING ? rPHB question is of paramount import-, JL anoet it is the very first of all questions. The fact of God’s existence underlies everything. His greatness is evident everywhere around us. The heavens declare His glory, and the firmament shows His handiwork. All nature tells us of the wisdom and power of some Being whom we wish to know, and whose voice we long to hear. May wo know Him ? We cannot by searching find Him out. We behold in nature the impress of a Divine hand, and design in everything, but it is absolutely dumb as to its Creator. But we may know Hijjj, for He has revealed Himself in that Boob which is so lightly esteemed amongst men to-day—the Bible. What does it reveal concerning God? Does it intimate that there are “ Three in One, and One in Three”? Never! Not once is the doctrine of the Trinity affirmed in the Scriptures of Truth. It Is so SdTfevidently absurd that we wonder at men with an ordinary amount of common-sense assenting to such a palpable contradiction in terms. The Atbanasian Creed affirms that " the Father is God, the Sou is Hod, and the Holy Ghost is God ” j that while we are compelled “by the Christian verity to acknowledge every person by himself to be God and Lord, so are we forbidden by the Catholic Religion to say. There be three Gods, or three Lords.” While this creed does not affirm that there are three Gods, it affirms that there are three persons, and that each of the three is God! but that they are not three aftpv all—qnly one! It has been well remarked concerning this greed, that you have to imagine a plural unit. One multiplied by three is not three, but on.e — that’s the doctrine! Surely it is the veriest driyel that ever emanated from berpuddled human brains! But what saith the Scriptures ? With clarion voice they utter forth this glorious truth—“THERE IS BUT ONE GOD”! (See Deut., vi., 4 j Isa., xl., 25, xliv., 5-8; John, xvii., 3; I. Cor., viii., 6; Eph., iy., 4; I. Tim., ii., 5) Reader! If you will kindly turn up, the above references, yon will see how emphatic the Scriptures are respecting this truth. Tfley are equally emphatic when speaking of ' He is frequently styled the Son of (Jod (.Jofln/i., 18,‘iii., IjB), but never God the Bon. He was'tha Son of God by virtue of His Divine begettal (Imkoj i., 2637), and the Son of Man, on account'd? His having been born of a woman (Gal., iv., 4). : And, a) no eon can possibly be aj old as his father, tins dogma styled “the eternal sonship of Christ ” is at once reduced - to what fir Adam Clark truly characterised it —"eternal nonsense" I God gave “not the Spirit by measure unto ! him ” (John, iii., 34), and it was by this power that “the Man Christ Jesus” (I. Tim., ii., 5) did the works. Ood did the works hy him (Acta, ii., 22). Therefore, when he says, “ before Abraham was I aip ” (John, viii., 58), it must be understood’ in harmony with His other statements—“ the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself; but the Father that dwelleth in me, Ho doeth the works (John, xiv., }(J). I can of mine own self do nothing ” (John, v„ 30). The Spirit of God, though referred to frequently by the personal pronoun “ he,” is not a person, but “the power of the Highest” (Luke, i., 35), “which proceedelh from the Father” (John xv., 26), as a river from its source, or the rays from the sun. It is personified in the same way as /.‘.wisdom and “ riches ” are personified (see’Prey., i;<.; Lnke ; xvi., 13). The Spirit is the’ creative’energy of the Deity (Job. xxvi., 13; Psalm, civ., 29) 3(3). ‘ “ The Spirit of God hath made me” (Job, xxxlii., 4). It is “in our nostrils ” (Job, xxvii., 3). It is everywhere present (Psalm, cxxxix., 1-12), while God Himself is located in the heavens (Psalm, oxxiii., 1). The Spirit is never spoken of as “ God the Holy Ghost,” but as " the Spirit op the Lord ” (Acts, v., §)■ Reader! These facts, thus briefly stated, are of supreme importance, for Jesus said in prayer to His Father, “This is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent” (John, xvii., 3). Paul, also, writes: “The Lord Jesus shall he revealed from heaven with hia mighty angels, in flaming fire taking'vengeance ON THEM THAT KNOJV NOT GOD, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ "(11. Thess., i, 7,8). ,CORRESPONDENCE INVITED. We heartily invite you to .communicate with us, to place your difficulties’ before us, and we shall be glad to help yon in your search for the truth by correspondence, and by handing you suitable literature.
