DEATH OF A NOTED OFFICER.
Received Janaary 6,10.45 p.m. Calcutta, January 6. The death is announced at Peshawar of Brigadier-General Biggs, who recently was invalided from the frontier campaign. The deceased officer figured gallantly in the recent action in the north-western struggles, and the hardships which he then underwent, and at Tiras Pass engagement, brought on dysentery, from which he succumbed. •
