A consignment of 1000 bales of wool ia supposed to come to hand by this steamer for the ship Katy, now loading for Homo under the Freights Reduction Committee at the wool jetty. The Mana’s cargo from Patea consisted ol 18S halos wool, C casks pelts and 68 sacks bran. She returned last evening. The To Anau arrived from Auckland, Gisborne and Nanier at 8 o’clock yesterday morning. Her cargo includes 215 cases gara for transhiomont Home by the Kaikoura, 19,000 ft timber for Lyttelton, 5000 ft for Hobart, and 13,000 ft for Melbourne. She left late yesterday afternoon for the South. The Haurofo lefS for Lyttelton at 3.15 p.m. yesterday. Tbo Southern portion of her fruit from Fiji consisted of 1800 cases. The Hermione, assisted by a tug, was berthed at the Railway Wharf yesterday morning, where she will continue her loading for Home. On the patent slip she received a cleaning and fainting, wbfbh should greatly accelerate her speed on the run Home. The Penguin arrived from Lyttelton yesterday morning, encountering a heavy northerly gale In the Straits. She brought 13 tons cargo for Wellington and 33 tons for Nelson, for which port she left via Picton shortly after 2 p.m. The Hula, from Wanganui, yesterday morning brought 221 bales wool. About 110 bales also came to hand from Patea by the Aorere. The Corlnna's cargo from South consisted of 210 tons for Wellington, 70 for Westport and 70 for Nelson, which latter was landed hero for transhipment. She sailed for Westport direct at 3.80 yesterday afternoon. The Mahinapaa is not due hero until Sunday, in consequence of arrangements having been made for that steamer to make an intermediate trip between New Plymouth and Onehunga with the Bland Halt Dramatic Company. The ship Nelson, which left here’ eariy last Saturday morning, arrived at Port Chalmers yesterday. The barque Akaroa, which has been loading for Homo at Lyttelton, has completed her cargo, and will probably sail to-day. - Tbo Blackball steamer. Hoskoth leaves for Greymonth at 6 a.m. to-day. - A consignment of 220 tons (measurement) of dairy produce, for transhipment Home by the Kaikojra, is being brought down from New Plymouth by the Takapuna this morning. The Orowaiti was to leave Westport lost evening for Lyttelton. Mr J. H. Rochfort. of Nelson, second officer of the 6,8. Penguin, and late of the Wainul, who has been studying at the Trinity House Navigation and Steam Schools, Wellington, has just passed his examination for a certificate of competency as master of a foreign-going ship in the mercantile marine.
