A BARONETCY FOR A GARDENER.

By holograph.—Press Association,—Copyright, Received October 20, 9.85 p.m. ADELAIDE, October 20. A man named Fitzgerald, employed as a gardener, has received a cable announcing his succession to the baronetcy of Deros by the death of his cousin. The baronetcy is the oldest in England, though not a very rich one. Fitzgerald is a near relative of the Duke of Leinster and cousin of the Marquis of Dufferin. When he came of age he inherited .£35,000, which he quickly spent in horse-ra-oing and other effective ways. As captain of the Koyal Irish Rifles, he served in Bechuanalaud under Sir Charles Warren, and carno to the colonies two years ago, destitute.
