The Devonport Ferry Company's steamer Britannia got on the sandbank oft the Devonport Wharf last Friday, bat was successfully floated on the evening’s tido. , . The following changes of officers in the Union Steam Ship Company’s service Mr Jordan has succeeded Mr Wood os chief officer of the Omapere, the latter having been transferred to the Rosamond. Mr Hutchings has joined the Omapere as second officer, vice Me Sinclair, transferred to a similar position on the Richmond. Mr Robertson becomes chief steward of the Omapere, Mr Taylor to be transferred to the Rotomahana. Mr Cannon has replaced Mr Mclntyre as third engineer of the Omapere, Mr Mclntyre having been promoted to second of the Upolu. The Rotoiua left for South at 4 yesterday 1 afternoon. She returns on Sunday morning. The Waimii arrived from the West Coast via Nelson and Picton at 3.30 a.m. yesterday. The Vancouver liner Warrimoo left Sydney at 5 p.m. on Monday. She should arrive on Friday. The Aocero arrived at Patea at 3 p.m. yesterday, and is to sail for Opnnako and Wellington at 3 a.m. to-day. The barque Norna, from Now York to Dunedin, was spoken on July 20 in iat. 39 N.. long. 68 W. BARQUE .WEATHBRSPIELD, FROM LONDON. The barque Weatbersfield, from London via Sydney and Newcastle, was towed into port yesterday afternoon by the tug Duco. A report of her voyage to Australia has already appeared. She left Newcastle last Saturday week,. and experienced variable north-west to south-west winds for three day s,with verv heavy thunder and vivid lightning and heavy sea, then light south-west winds until Thursday lost, when it increased to a strong breeze, which lasted till off Stephen Island, Farewell Spit having been parsed on Sunday morning. From Stephen Island she met with light north-west winds, which increased to a gale oil the Heads, which wore reached early yesterday morning. The Weatbersfield has a cargo of 1500 tons of coal for Wellington. She will be berthed this morning. Messrs Johnston and Go. are the local agents.
