The New Zealanders —Body, Forbes and Bunt—won the multicycle race in 6min ISsae. The meeting was characterised by ihe extraordinary conduct of W. Martin, the American, who objected to the decision of the League in regard to his previous riding. _He distributed a circular stating that he did net intend to compete in ' certain races tor which he bad entered. Tho warned him that he would have to fulfil hia _ engagements; and, acting under legal advioe, Martin came out after his heat in the First-class Mile, and redo tho distance alone on tho asphalt on a roadster equipped with pouch, pump and bell. Coming up the straight I_o rang the bell, and was received with hoots and jeers by :the, crowd. In the next raoe, the League Handicap, Martin appeared without colours or nnmber, bat was paced hard for a. lap, when he retired, and had his name scratched for two other races. Received October 18, 10 p.m. Adelaide, October 18.

Martin, the American cychst, has been sent to gaol for 14 days for assault on an official of the League of Wheelmen. Martin has declared that he will never race again in Australia.
