FEARFUL ACCIDENT.
By Telegraph,—-Press Association. Auckland, October 16. An elderly man named James MoLeary was fearfully injured at Ouharon yesterday. He was quarrying metal,'and thinking that a hole which he had charged had not lighted properly, returned to re-kindle it. The shot went off full in his face, driving the match-box which he had held in his hand into his forehead over the left eye, while his left hand was. completely shattered, his face fearfully mutilated, his lower jaw smashed and the sight of both eyes destroyed. . .
