Tho Gorman warship Buzzard leaves Auckland for Samoa to-day. On hei trip from Auckland to tho Thames on Tuesday tho Northern Company’s steamer Waitangi made a record run of 3 hours 53 minutes. The Wainui arrived at "Westport from Groymouth at Q p.m. yesterday. She leaves Westport at noon to-day for Nelson, and sails from the latter place for Picton and Wellington at noon on MonTh'o Corinna leaves Westport at noon to-day for Wellington direct. . . * x .. t , The Mawbera leaves Nelson at 11 to-night for 'Picton and Wellington. . The local agents havo received intimation that the Tongariro arrived at Plymouth on the 13tb instant, and the Rakaia arrived at Gravesend on the 14th, ..... . ■ . It Is understood that the Original intention to put the Manapourl in the Fijian trade has been cancelled, tho Hauroto having been substituted, but that on the return of the, Manapourl to headquarters from Melbourne she will be despatched to Tasmania to be employed in that fast-expanding trade* Tho Dlngadoe, on arrival in Wellington, is to receive an overhauling, in anticipation of the wool season. The Brunner will fill the Bingadee’s dates. Tho Tacawera arrived at 8.30 yesterday morning, after a fine trip from Sydney via Auckland and East Coast. She left for Melbourne via South late in the afternoon. Tho Richmond, which has been detained at Westport for some time owing to tho heavy weather and oacl bar, arrived yesterday morning. She left last night for tho West Coast via Picton and Nelson, The Te Anau shipped a mob of 28 cattle at the Railway Wharf before proceeding South yesterday afternoon. The Aorcro made an attempt yesterday afternoon to pick up the anchor which the barque Devonport slipped at the Hoads, but the sea was too heavy and she returned to tho wharf, leaving again for Patca late in the afternoon. The Duchess is being painted and generally overhauled at the Queen’s Wharf.
THE AORANGX, FROM VANCOUVER. The R.M.B. Aorangl, from Vancouver via Hono* lulu and Sava, arrived in port at C yesterday morning, and after Dr James had granted pratiqbe, was berthed at the Queen’s Wharf. She loft Vancouver on September 20tb, at 3 a.w., arriving tho same afternoon at Victoria, where she embarked mails, passengers and cargo, la consequence of having*to take in large shipments she left Victoria 12 boars late. She experienced moderate to light winds on the run to Honolulu, which port she reached at midnight on the 26tb September, and loft for Suva tho next day. Tho Miowera was passed on the 80th,. and the Equator was crossed on the 4th Inst., when moderate weather was experienced to Aiopa Island, which was passed on the 7th. From thence she had fine weather to arrival at the Fiji Group, and Suva was reached on the 3th. Tho vessel left the hitter island foe Wellington oa the 10th, experiencing moderate weather till off the New Zealand coast, when a gale sprung up, which lasted till her arrival here. Her passengers are:—For Now Zealand—Miss Foster, Mesdames VVayraoath, Couper, Reekie. Dow 1 , Messrs Waymoutb, Clarko, Couper, Gault, MoGapn, White, Evans. For Australia Misses Turner, Lady Tich'oorne, Mesdames Yorke, Merlin, Turner, Vivian. Shannon, Powell, Carden, Messrs Yorke, Willis, Wilson, Smith, Cooks, White, Brown, Shallon, "Dltohburn, Barr, Stephen, Turner, Vivian, Cutfield, Shannon, Boucb, MoCutchoon, Masters and three Chinese. Her complete cargo for New Zealand is as follows;— Wellington—12 packages drugs, 5 oases buggies, 86 packages bicycles. 6 coses paper, 1395 cases salmon, 480 packages binder cord. 2 sacks coffee, 700 cases onions, 55 packages agricultural instruments, 4 cases sundries. Auckland—4 cases cotton, 3 cases drugs, 99 packages paper, 501 cases salmon, 14 cases typewriters. Lyttelton—loo cases salmon. 82 packages paper, 9 cases bicycles. Port Chalmers—44s oases salmon. 52 packages paper. Bluff—6o cases salmon. Napier—29 bundles paper. New Plymouth—9 bundles paper. In addition to this she has a largo cargo for Australia comprising: —Flour, wheat, salmon, machinery, &c. Tho Aorangi>ailcd for Sydney late last night.
