The Colonial Treasurer stated that the colony is more than Convalescent—that she is vigorous. The revenue for l8f)3 is estimated at .£352,000, and the expenditure at .£790,000. The total deficit as at the end of December, 1887, was Jti 13.000, but the Treasurer estimates that by December, 1898, it will have been reddeed to 91281,000.
