THE FRANCO-BRITISH TROUBLE. By Telegraph,-—Press Asaoeiatxon. — Copyright. London, October 12. The Standard, referring to tho dashing of French and British interests in West Africa, expresses the opinion that It would be better to give Franco free scope for her activity in the middle Niger country on condition that she abstain from further aggression on the lower Niger and in the country to the oast and from British East Africa. Zanzibar, October 12. It is reported that King Mwanga, who recently organised a rebellion amongst the natives in the Buddu district of tho protectorate of Uganda, and was stated to have fled to Gorman territory and there been detained, has again been defeated. Uganda is now in a tranquil condition.
