READJUSTMENT OF TRANSVAAL FREIGHTS AND TAXES.

A Select Committee of the Volksraad has submitted a report recommending that reductions be made in the railway freights on food stuffs, coal, timber and mining machinery. The suggested reductions range from 30 to 40 per cent. The committee also recommends that the direct taxes oh the people be readjusted so as to afford large relief -to small settlers.
