Noumka, August 16. fearful accident happened to-day. A number of artillery officers and men went out in two boats in a small bay two miles from the town for the purpose of destroying several bombs loaded with melinite.,

.During the operations of fixing the electric current & bomb erplpded and Wow up the boat containing, nine iheri. Three artillery artificers and a KauakA We.r© literally blown to atoms. The remaining five were badly injured. A Kanaka in the second beat was alee injured. The other boat rescued the wounded.
