The little men scored a brilliant victory on Saturday—that is to say, the players of the Wellington Bowling Club who are below 6ft 7in in height effectually defeated those who are able to boast of a stature which is over that standard. There are not wanting those whq allege that some of the players amongst the “little” men are really over tho regulation height, and looking at the teams on the ground one could well believe so. In tho semi-finals for the President’s trophy, at the Newtown green, Underwood has defeated Bell, and Bary has defeated Hosie. The scores in the second match between Bary and Hosie woreßary, 28 j Hosie, 5, In the third match the following was the record Bary, 30 ; Hosie, Bary and Underwood now remain in, and will play off the final round this week; the winner in two out of three games securing the trophy. This trophy has been awarded by Mr Banks, the president, and is to be a prize of the value of £2 2s, to be selected by the winner.
