Government has decided that the Queen’s Jubilee shall take the form of an Industrial School for the Blind. Hobart, May 15.
Government recommends Parliament to expend .£IOOO in founding an Institution for tho Deaf, Dumb and Blind, to commemorate the Queen’s Jubilee. Sydney, May 15. June 22nd has been proclaimed as a national holiday, in honour of the record reign celebrations. Mei-bookne, May 15. Over £IO,OOO has been subscribed towards the Queen’s Memorial Hospital. THE SULTAN TO BE EE PRESENTED. Received May 15, 8.40 p.m. London, May 14. In the House of Commons Mr Balfour stated that the Sultau was sanding an envoy to represent him at the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations. This action was purely voluntary on tho part of the Sultan. MO HE BANQUETS FOE THE COLONIAL PEE MI EES. Received May 16, 5.10 p.m. London, May 15. Banquets in , honour of the colonial Premiers will be given by Mr Chamberlain, on June 30th, and by the Imperial Institute, on July 18th. The Princo of Wales is to preside at the latter.
