SUICIDE IN THE POLICE CELLS.

A Quick Doctor Poisons Himself. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, December 23. A foreigner named Marinus Freissbonrg, alias Dr Aschby, who was convicted yesterday at Mongonui of unlawfully practising as a medical man, and sentenced to sir months’ imprisonment in default of paying a fine of j63d, imposed upon him, died this morning at the Mongonui look-up. A constable visited Freisabourg’s cell at 4 o’clock, when he found the man apparently suffering from the effects of poison. A medical man was called in, but Freissbonrg gradually sank. The presumption is that Freissbourg had the poison concealed in his clothing.
