A meeting of stewards of the Lower Valley Jockey Club was hold on Saturday afc Martinborough, when tho acceptances, as published, were received.- The secretary reported the course in aplendid order, tho now buildings well Under way and every other thing ready for tho day’s sport on Boxing Day. Ho also reported having sent to tho traffic manager of the Now Zealand railways asking to Have the attraction of the races put on tho posters, and notified coaches to meet the train at Fcathcrston- If this is done it will moan an increase of passengers by train and visitors to tho races. It was decided to try and get forms, if not, tho secretary to got seats pat round the fence in the lawn. On the whole everything promises a good day’s sport and a pleasant outing. The club sells no games and allows no betting except through tho machine.
