THE PROPOSED RECIPROCITY CONFERENCE.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. — Copyright. Sydney, December 21.
The Daily Telegraph, in another article on Mr Seddon’a proposal for a conference on the reciprocity question, niters its tone. It now says that, as a step towards following the desirable example of Now South Wales in making the port free, tho suggested conference must bo approved by this colony. No harm can possibly come to New South Wales from a conference with the other colonies, which has for its motive tho admission by them of our products or those of each other, While a great deal of good may result directly or indirectly. At the same time, tho Telegraph still insists that NeW Zealand is not the proper plade for such a conference.
