SNEEZING. The custom of saying “ God bless you ** to the sneezer originated* among the ancients* who, through an opinion of the danger attending it, after snoozing, made a short leaver to (ho gods, as “ japitcr, help. me.” The custom is mentioned by Homer and others. Sneezing is very often the premonitory warning that you have taken a chill, and, when it occurs, it is wise to immediately take a little Wolfe’s Schnapps with hot water. Beware of imitations which would not be efficacious. Buy whole bottles, and break thorn Tfhoa empty. 33
