THE MAORI ELECTIONS.

Special to the New Zealand Times, Greytown North, December 19, The township has been quite gay to-day, on the occasion of the Native elections. All the Natives, men and women, from Papawai and district have voted hero. Tamahau Mahupuku has his Native band playing opposite the polling booths, drags and brakes have been in great request, and about 100 have voted, and it is believed every vote has been cast for Wi Pero, the Government candidate, SOUTHERN MAORI ELECTORATE.
