South Island Trotting Association held last night it was resolved, “That all owners, riders, drivers and horses that have taken partin any events on the programmes passed by the Dunedin Jockey Clnb, and which programmes have not been apprdved by the Association in accordance with (he rules, be disqualified during the pleasure of the Association, and that the Colonial Secretary’s attention be called to the attitude taken up by the Dunedin Jockey Club.” . A meeting of the Johnsonvillo and Hutt County Trotting Club was held last night at the Terminus Hotel, Mr Dwan in the chair. There was a fnlf attendance. The secretary was instructed to write to Mr G. Fisher qnd Mr’A. H. Field, M.H.R.’e, the president and yioe.-prfisjdeiit respectively,. congratulating them on their enaepss in the lasf election. It was decided-to call for tenders for the working of the totalisator at the January meeting. The Club is determined to put trotting on a sound footing, and judging by the officers and stewards this Club promises to become.one of the leading trotting ciubs of the North Island. Mr T, A. Askew, late of Nelson, and Mr M. C. O’Connell, late of Palmerston North, have been added to the steward list, and their services will bo of great value to the Club. They are both wellknown sportsmen, and were largely interested in trotting in their own districts before coming to Wellington.
