EXHIBITION MUSICAL FESTIVAL.

Early noitjmonth Mr Maughan Barnett’s Musical Society will perform a number of choral works, which have been under rehearsal for some considerable time past. Among the Pieces are Rossini’s “ Stabat Mater/ 1 Brahm’s “oong of Destiny,” ‘‘Messiah,” Gade’s “Comala” (so much enjoyed when given at the opening performance of the Society last year). Hamish McCann’s ‘ Lord Ullin’s Daughter,” &o. Mosers Adams and Kill’s now cantata “ Hinornoa ” will also be repeated by the Society, under Mr Alfred Kill’s bdfcon, and several other choral and orchestral piocos given. The concerts are to bo held in the entertainment hall of the Exhibition on the evenings of December Ist, 2nd, 3rd and jstb. It had been arranged to hold the third concert on the 4th, but this has been transferred to Thursday, 3rd, on account of the elections falling on the Friday. The soloists will include Madame Eveleen Carlton, Miss Parsons, Mr John Hill. j. Mr John Prouse, and in “ Comala ” Mrs Sbortridge and Mr F. S. Pope. Miss Constance Hathorlyhas been en-gp-yodfor the harp parts. Altogether, a most enjoyable week’s festival is in store, and as the bos plans for the four concerts are now open at the Dresden Rooms, all who are not subscriber? and who intend to bo present at one or all of the concerts should at once mark off thoir seats, as there is little doubt but that the whole hall will be fully reserved.
