Hopeful, The Plug, Kaika and Dromedary constituted the forward division, and. Booties, Morag, Otaieri and Tiritea were, afterwards prominent i but the last-named came down at the sod wall. Kaika, who jumped faultlessly,- soon took a strong lead, and was never afterwards headed. Hopeful went after him at the back of tbo course, but came to grief at the double jump. Alter that the race was a mere procession, the little Woirarapa horse winning by six lengths. Mutiny beating The Plug by half a length for second place. Time, 7min 58sea. Dividend, ,£l2. Hunters’ Steeplechase, about two miles and a half.—Glengarry, 13st91b, 1; Poscador, 12st, 21b ; Ulysses, list 101 b, 3. Ton started. Won all out by two lengths. Pesoador was nearly knocked over at the gorsp fence. Time, smin 38sec, Dividend, 10s. Second Welter Handicap, seven furlongs.—Solitaire, list 2lb, 1 ; Haeta, lOat 51b, 2 ; St. Bogel, list 121 b, 3. Seventeen started. Won by throe-parts of a length. Time, Imin 41sqo. Dividend, .£l3 16s. Final Steeplechase, twamlles.—Donald McKinnon, 12st 71b, 1; Morag, 12st 71b, 2; T Rose, 9st 71b, 3. Seven started. Won' by a bare length. Dividend, 12s.
