A NATIVE STRONGHOLD TO BE ATTACKED BY THE BRITISH. MORE SETTLERS MISSING. By Telegraph.— Press Association. — Copyright. Capetown, Jane 29. Colonel Plainer, with a force 900 strong, has started to attack the Gekeat impi at Halda, 60 miles from Bulawayo. Help has also been despatched to Fort Charter, which is threatened by natives. Sixty persons have been murdered by the Mashonas, and 70 others have been reported missing in the last few days. Two thousand Yorongazes have deserted from the Beira railway works, and it is feared that they have joined the rebels. The 50,000 rounds of Martini-Henry ammunition which were stolen from Marindella have been found.
