PROBABLE APPOINTMENT OF HR W. B,
EDWARDS,
The rumour is that Mr W. B. Edwards will bo appointed Justice to fill the vacancy caused by tlio muoli-rograttod death of the late Sir Patrick A. Buckley. The rumour could not bo confirmed last night, but in well-informed circles its truth was* largely believed in, so that Mr Edwards; app,ointment looks as certain as anything can bo that has not actually occurred. ■\Vlicn Mr Edwards himself was seen by a New Zealand Times, reporter late last night, ho said that bo had* not had any official intimation from the Government with reference to the appointment.
