CHECKING THE CHINESE.
The Public Works Committee will make the following recommendations to the City Council on Thursday ; That the principal clauses in the hawkers by-law be translated into Chinese and circulated in the Chinese quarters of the city in order that Chinese hawkers may bo compelled to take out licenses.
That no express or drivers* licenses be issued to Chinamen.
