M. Mowatt, Chief Inspector of Machinery, sent down a diver yesterday morning to examine the bottom of the Penguin, which touched ground when entering Nelson Harbour. The plates wore found to bo quite uninjured, only the paint being scraped off in a few places. The vessel loft for Nelson direct shortly after 6 o’clock yesterday morning.’ The Grafton arrived from Nolson and West Coast yesterday morning She went alongside H.M.S, Lizard and discharged about 80 tons of coal mto tho warship. Tho Grafton returns to Nolson and West Coast to-day, Tho Charles Edward, from Nelson, arrived yesterday morning, and sailed in the evening for tho West Coast, via Nelson. T Tho Wakatipu, from Sydney, arrived yesterday afternoon. She leaves for South today. The Turakina was berthed at tho Queen’s Wharf yesterday morning, and immediately commenced discharging. .
