THE BANK AMALGAMATION.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, November 17. The transfer of the business of the Colonial Bank to the Bank of New Zealand takes place on Monday night, in the terms of the contract, and consequently the doors of the Colonial Bank will not bo opened after Monday. The customers of the selling bank will not have to go through any formality, as the books will be transferred. Of the local employees, about a dozen take service with the Bank of New Zealand, including Mr E. Ewing, manager, who is to be assistant-manager in Otago. The majority of the officers will be absorbed, as the Colonial Bank has branches in several places where the Bank of New Zealand was not represented.
