The second performance of-‘The Land of was given at the Opera House last heforo adargp audience. The drama was received ‘With grogt enthusiasm, and at tl}Q end of each act the performers were called before th§ curtain. Misses Gill, ap'd Leigt and Messrs Leitch, Keightley, Carr and tJiitihoarb especially were successful in their respective parts, The inngnificect scenery elicited the heartiest appla-uso, es* pecially that representing the Pink Terraces, one of the finest scenes ever on the New Zealand stage. The sensation of the piece—the eruption of Tarawera—was splendidly managed, and quite startled many of the audience.
