MINING.
THE AUCKLAND SHAREMARKET, By Telegraph.—Special to Times. Auckland, June 29. Business was brisk on the Stook Exchange this morning, Coromandel shares still being in most request, Zealandias sold as high at 2s Bd, and Harbour Views advanced to is 2d. whilo Bunker's Hills changed hands at 4s Bd. Golden Hill and Hauraki South shares were also a little firmer. In Upper Thames stock the only advance took place in Grace Darlings, which sold at Is 6d, with further buyers at Is 7d. Wealth of Nations also sold at Is 3d, and Talismans at ICs 9d. These were the only transactions reported in Upper Thames stock. Lower Thames shares were not in much request, the only advance being in Moanataiaris, which sold as high as 6s 9d. May Queens had a sharp decline to 7s fid, but afterwards sold at one shilling advance. As no answer has yet been received from Mr Dunn regarding the proposed purchase of the mine, the present decline in value is hard to explain. FURTHER NEWS FROM THE THAMES. By Telegraph,—Press Association . Thames, June 29. The mining boom continues, the Coromandel and Ohinemuri districts beingmost in favour. Almost every new venture that is placed upon the market is eagerly snapped up, a gratifying feature being that in almost every instance the whole of the money realised is devoted to the develop-
ment of the ground. The Hauraki Goldmining Company *s mine at Coromandel is looking splendid, and advices to-day state that such a show of golden ore has never been seen since tho days of the famous*' Caledonian mine at tho Thames. The All Nations special claim at Coromandel, comprising 100 acres, is another mine h(kd in high estimation, and £IOOO is now being raised for its more systematic development. The prospects of Kapanga are also excellent. The Waihi Company will have another good return this month. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, June 30. The legal manager here knows nothmg of the Cromwell Gold Company announced in the cablegrams save that it is a reconstruction of the old company, and that the old shareholders will be allotted—a {certain proportion of shares. The Dunedin Gold Dredging Company s return is 38oz gold for the week. Reefton, June 29, The following returns are announced ; Big River, 188 oz amalgam from 112 tons, top plates ; Hercules, 1940 z amalgam from 8i tons, clean up; Russell, 1 20 oz amalgam from 80 tons, clean up; Progress, 3230 z amalgam from 220 tons, clean up; Globe, loloz amalgam from 370 tons, clean up ; Keep-it-Dark, 2360 z amalgam from 64 tons, clean up. The Buller Dredge did not clean up this week, owing to the loss of time caused through the stoppage of the coal supply. Auckland, June
This month's return from the Hauraki mine, Coromandel, is 33740 z, worth about £IO,OOO The Kapai - Vermont Co., Kuaotunu, crushed 242 tons for 3830 z gold.
