Two brothers named Arthur and George Little have been arrested on a charge of conspiring to defraud the Joint Stock Bank of a largo sum of money, but the exact amount has not been divulged. Arthur Little is a clerk in the Bank, and his brother George is employed in a solicitor’s office.
The stock returns for the colony show that at the end of last year horses numbered 498,300, an increase of 17,000; cattle, 2.246.000, an increase of 90,000; and sheep, 50.973.000, a decrease of 6000.
