-A saloon passenger oa tho Monojvai from Sydney to, Wellington named Peake .was found at 7 o’clock in his’ cabin to-night by the chief steward in a state of coma, died in. a few minutes. . _ .
An empty 'bottle of chlorodyne was found in the. cabin, and • a;full- one in- his pocket, apparently purchased from a local chemist. .
* Peake came on board jatr Sydney apparently suffering from the effects, of drink, and refused to drink ort the passage.. He ’srent; ashore .early this morning, and returned at 9 -a.m” and went to : his cabin, where ho had been all day till he was jfotmd this evening by the chief steward.
