THE SINUOSITIES OF THE LAW.
A small boy named ‘William Marsden, ■who was said to be 10 years of age, but did not look it, -was brought before the Stipendiary Magistrate yesterday as being uncontrollable. The father of the boy said he wished him to be sent to an industrial school, but in answer to His Worship.he owned he was unable to give security for tho payment of his maintenance. His Worship remarked that in the present state of tho law He was unable to commit the boy to an industrial school unless security was given. If the child committed a crime, ho would be able to take that course without requiring security, and therefore, absurd as it might seem, he would have to let the boy go until ho had committed a crime. The parents of the child thereupon left the Court, taking their child with them.
