The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for tho United Kingdom is 3,220,000 quarters, and for tho Continent 910,000 quarters. THE LONDON WOOL SALES. Tho NbwZba-LAnd Loan and Mercantile Aojgncy Company, Limited, have received tho following cablegram from their London office, dated 15th instant; —Wool —The sales opened this day,, prices ruling in buyers’ favour.* Tho principal decline has been in medium and inferior greasy merino, which havo declined per lb. The attendance of both Homo and foreign buyers is normal, but there is a want of confidenoo in the bidding, and little demand. The total quantity available, including wool hold over from last series, is 300,000 bales, 44,000 bales of j which have been sent to tho manufacturing districts direct. Murray, Roberts and Co. have received tho following wool cablegram from their London house (Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co.) • —London, January 15th—“ Average attendance of buyers and competition is limited. Faulty and inferior, descriptions have declined 5 per cent. Other descriptions have declined a shade.” , - By Telejraph.—Preen Association. —Copi/rh/Tii. London, January 16. Tho total quantity of wool arrived up to date is 237,600 bales, of which 41*,000 bales have boon sent forward direct to the manufacturing districts. With tho quantity left over from last series there will bo 256,000 biles available for tho present series. Received January 17, 10.10 p.m. London, January 10. ■ At tho wool sales a good catalogue was presented, and prices were maintained. Bidding is fair, especially for stylish combing wools. lluyors are chiefly from the Continent, but a few good lots have been taken to America.
