ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS.
“Township op Levin.” —You ask if it is legal to give an exhibition of boxing in a public hall. It depends on the exhibition. A glove fight has been judicially pronounced illegal. A mere exhibition of friendly “sparring,” in which the parties are not bound to fight to a finish, and only intend to show their skill, may be another thing. But your best plan is to consult a lawyer. “Factory Act.”—The sixty-third section of the Act provides that Saturday is the halt-holiday in factories for all women and young persons employed. At tho same time it enables the local authority, in case Saturday is found inconvenient, to appoint some other working day; and it gives to shopkeepers who Imve a factory in connection with their shops the option of accepting the day so appointed, orstioking to Saturday. They are required to give notice of their decision to the Inspector. and to got from that authority that their factory comes within the moaning of the Act.
