THE POLLARD SEASON.
In spite of the rain there was a good house last night to witness the twelfth and last performance of the pantomime. It will be some time before such a perfect production is seen again in Wellington. To-night Mr Pollard’s Company will produce the popular military and spectacular comic opera '* La Fille du Tambour Major.” This work was always a favourite with playgoers, and as it will be staged on the well-known scale of completeness which has characterised this company’s previous productions, admirers of comic opera may look forward to a rare treat. The booking is very big, aud there is sure to be a crowded house to witness the initial performance. With nearly 200 people on the stage, including a full brass band, Mr Pollard is certain to give the public something novel in the shape of marches, groupings, and spectacular effects. “ Tambour Major ” will be played for a limited number of nights only.
