SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP.
The Senior Championship match be~ tween tho Midland and Phcenix Clubs was continued on tho Basin Reserve last night. The Midlanders, who were in a minority of 102, resumed their second innings, having threo wickets down for 61. B. Blacklock (28) and Vi. Tucker (1) were the not-out men. They played capitally, and were able to wipe off tho deficit and get 32 to tho good without losing their wickets, the score standing at 134 for three wickets when stumps wore drawn. B. Blacklock's score is 60, and Tucker's 30. Blacklock gave a good display of cautious defensive cricket—the correct game at such a stage —and his partner, with tho exception of ono or two bad strokes, shaped exceedingly well. He gave a chance to Mullins which shoitld have been taken. The gamo is to bo icsdined this evening. MEETING OF' Till? ASSOCIATION COMMITTEE. At a meeting of tho Committee of the I Cricket Association last night a' letter was received .from the Secretary of the 1 New Zealand Cricket Council suggesting ; that the fhst North' v. South Island match should bo played in Christchurch about the middle of next m’onth, immediately after tho Otago-Canterbury match. The Committee agreed to the’ proposal provided .that the dates, did not clash with the Wdlingtori-Fiji match, and further suggefftirfg that February 28th and March Ipt and 2nd would be the most suitable dates for the Tv ellipgt<?n Association. Mr H. D. Bell, M.H.tf. (president of the Association) was appointed vice-president of tho New Zealand Cricket Council, arid Messrs Cross and Holdship were appointed , delegates to represent tho Wellington Association on tho Council. The question of sending a team to Wanganui at Easter was deferred. JUNIOR CUP FIXTURES. Tho remaining Junior Cup fixtures are as follow :—- January 12fcli and 19fch. —Excelsior v.
