FATAL ACCIDENT NORTH OF AUCKLAND. Auckland, November 19. Agnes Bishop, youngest daughter of Charles Bishop, settler, Te Arai, was killed by the upsetting of a bullock dray. At the inquest the jury added a rider to their verdict of accidental death condemnatory of the practice of bullock-drivers riding in their drays when driving bullock teams. NEW CHURCHES CONSECRATED. Oamaru, November 19. St. Patrick's Basilica, the now Roman Catholic Church here, was opened yesterday by Bishop Grimes, of Christchurch, The Bishop chanted Pontifical High Mass in the morning, and Father Hilary preached the dedication sermon. In the evening Bishop Grimes preached. The offertory in aid of the building fund was .£3OO. The church is one of tho finest in the town. Napier, November 19. The new Roman Catholic Church of St. Patrick, in Munroe street, was consecrated on Sunday. Among tho officiating clergy were Archbishop Redwood, Bishop Luck, of Auckland and the Very Rev Father Dcvoy. Father Grogan announced that tho collection amounted to over .£2OO. Napier, November 10. A six-roomed house at ffaradale, owned by Mr Frame and occupied by Mr Ross, was totally destroyed by fire to-day, with nearly all its contents. At a special meeting of fche Harbour Board Mr Donald McLennan was appointed acting-mate of the big dredge. Auckland, November 19.
