Sir, —The Prohibitionists are now marshalling their forces to try and compel the whole community to obey their commandments, and as]we are not going to allow a handful of men to dictate' to us what we shall drink it is high time to take' up arms in self-defence as is now suggested by the well-balanced portion of tho community. There is not the slightest doubt that Prohibition has proved a failure in every place where it has been given a fair trial. The sooner the Moderates form' themselves into a society for self-protec-tion the bettor, and may I now suggest that the Mayor convenes nt an early date a public meeting for this purpose.—l am, &0..
