DEATH UNDER CHLOROFORM.
r A'painfully sudden death occurred yesterday afternoon in the'operating room at Mr Rawson’s, dentist, Wellington terrace. Mrs Moxham, wife of Mr Samuel Moxliam, and daughter-in-law of Mr Moxham, of Upland Farm, was on a visit to Mr Rawson for tho purpose of having several of her teeth extracted. Ah-the operation:' was likely to be both prolonged and necessarily painful, chloroform was administered under the supervision of Dr Rawson. The teeth were extracted'dud the chloroform discontinued, but in about a quarter of an hour tho patient began to faint, and in a very few moments was dead. All efforts at restoration were unavailing, and the distressing occurrence was at once reported to the police. Tho body of the unfortunate lady was removed to Upland Farm last night, and a post-mortem examination will bo njade by Dr Tripe to-day. An inquest on the” remains is to bo held by the Coroner (Mr J. Ashcroft) at 3 o’clock this afternoon.
