By Telegraph.—Press Association. — Copynght . Sydney, October 26. A body of unemployed made a raid on the Round Hill station, at Culcairn, 30 miles from Albury. The ringleader was arrested and sentenced to a month’s imprisonment. The evidence showed that the man was actually desperate from starvation.
The Sydney Morning Herald, commenting on the decision of the Tasmanian Government not to rescind the prohibition against the importation of sheep from New Zealand, states that- while New South Wales accepts the announcomont of the New Zealand Stock Department that the Colony is free from disease, the local department should not relax its watchfulness. A strike is. threatened in.one of the Newcastle collieries unless the owners consent to share the work amongst the whole of the staff, instead 1 of dismissing a number of hands. Bbibbane, October 26.
