LIGHTKEEPERS’ LEAVE OF ABSENCE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —If It Is true, ns stated in 'MarineiV letter which appeared in your paper to-day, that the leave of absence granted to lightkeepers has been reduced from fourteen to ton days, I hope that some of onr Labour members of Parliament will taka tho matter up and get tho Government to see that juatioe is done to these men, who, from they way they are situated, are unt able to help themselves. I thought from what the Premier has so often said about the Injustice of the Kailway Commissioners i.i granting long leave to the highly paid officers, while at tho same time reducing that given to the working men of tho service, that tho present Government would not have sanctioned what seems to have been done in the ease of tho light-keepers. If It has been done without their knowledge it is to ha hoped that they will bring those who have done it pretty sharply to aosount. —I am, &0.. Justice. July 31.
