WELLINGTON ROWING CLUB.

The annual meeting of this club waa hold at the boatsbed last night. Mr A. 8. Paterson (captain) presided, and there were over fjrty members present. The secretary (Mr A. Burns) read the annual report, a digest of which has already appeared in these columns. Mr S, Waters, sen., congratulated the dab on the very satisfactory stato of things that prevailed. The Chairman said this was the second year they had had to draw the attention of the . Now Zealand Amateur Rowing Association, to the management at Nelson. He them went Into minute detail of the manner* in which the club’s crews had been treated! at Nelson, Lake Forsyth, and and, in oondnaioo, said that their secretary was to be heartily congratulated on thg report. Mr Barns deserved the thanks of the club for his services. (Applause.) Mr G. 8. Mouat moved the adoption of the report. The motion waa seconded by Mr G. White, and carried unanimously. Mr F. J. Evans presented the balancesheet. The statement of assets and lia-. bilities showed a balance in favour of tha club of £3lO, tbe total liabilities being £487, and the assets £7£7. Xbo due amounted to a total of £ll7 4i 6d. and were estimated to produce about £3O. On the motion of Mr G. S. Mouat, seconded by Mr J. N, Barrie, tho balance* sheet was received and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows : President, MrJ. Saunders (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs W, H, P. Barber J. Rosa and J. K. Hayes ; captain Mr A.’ S. |Paterson (re-elected) ; depatyoaptaln, Mr M. P. Marks; hon secretary, Mr A.M. # Burns (re-elected); hon treasurer, Mr J. H, Gamble ; auditors. Messrs S. Waters, seer * and W. Rosa (re-elected); general committee, Messrs S. Waters, W. M. Wilson, G. S. Monat, S. Dir, J, W, Nicholson, 8. Laach* lan and J. P. Murphy; selection committee, Captain Paterson (ex officio), and Messrs S. Waters and G. 3. Mouat

Mr J. N. Barrie proposed a vote of thanks to the retiring officers, making particular mention of the secretary and the treasurer. Mr W, Naaghton seconded the motion, which waa carried by acclamation. The captain returned thanks, as did Messrs A. Bump, G. S. Mouas, J. Evans ond H. S. Waters, the last moving a vote off coogr-tuUtiua to tbo captain on the fact, that he had j let had an addition to hlsi family. The vote of congratulation wa* seconded by Mr A. Barns and carried unanimously, the captain replying in suitable terms.

Mr M. F. Marks returned thanks for hla election to the office of deputy-oaptaln. Mr G. S. Moaat proposed that the cap. tain (Mr A. S. Paterson) bo elected a life member of the club. The hoo, secretary

Tho captain and Messrs 7\J, F, Marks and S. Waters, junr., wore appointed deft* Ratos to fcho Now Zealand Amateur Rowing Association.

On the motion of Mr Burns, seconded by Mr A. Smith, it was unanimously decided to present the pant season’s trophies and medals at a social gathering, to be held about tho end of fcho month, and a strong committee was appointed fco carry out all tho arrangements.

The question of putting tlia club’s yard in order was left to the General Commifctes, as alno were several other matters connected with tho Internal administration of the club.

Tho club then went in'o committee, to consider financial matters, and the mooting adjourned shortly after midnight.
