Mr Blundell Maple, who recently offered to back his colt Common against Queen’s Birthday, over a two mile course for LIO,OOO, has made a further offer, in which, for a similar stake, he backs the son of Isonorny to win over a mile and a halfj course. The owners of Queen's Birthday decline to meet the Derby winner. Thousands to 30 are accepted against Mr D. Cooper's filly Wons Meg for the Cesarewitch Stakes. The following Hustings training notes appear in the Hawkes Bay Herald of Saturday :On tho Hastings course yesterday Whisper did the gallop of the morning in going a fast two miles with a three-year-old daughter of Toi the first mile, and Lenore the last. Cyniaca did. two miles at a good pace. She looks in splendid condition ; in fact all Gooaeman’s horses look well. British Lion, after going two miles slow, was joined by Olanranald for two more. They made the last one-and*a-half pretty merry, and the boy had to move on the colt to keep his place, but I think he is a lazy horse. Strephon did alow work, as also did Kosefeldt, Boulanger (who I omitted to menmen arrived last night together with Cretonne, in charge of Belcher) did ashort spurt at tho end of slow work. He appears to have done a fair amount cf work, and looks very well. Cretonne only cantered, he also looks fairly well. Pearl Powder went two miles about three-parts pace, and Namoa a mile further about half-pace. Fraternity, who is as fine a colt as a man could wish to see, did half-pace work. He is very big in condition, and does not appear to have done much work, but his owner tells me tho rolt has done a power of galloping. Oaklanda ana La Petite Fills were walking on the course, and from what I could judge with their rugs on lo;*k very well. Polos a was restricted to walking exercise, Mystic, the Wonderland—Mystery two-year-old filly, was sweated. Several of tho other two-year-olds and older horses did slow work.
