The estimated value of the gold for the week is £2032, RETORTS, Big River.—Sloping was discontinued on Thursday last to allow the ground to be filled in, which will be completed about the middle of tho week, when crushing will be resumed. The stapes are all looking well, both as regards quantity and quality. The total crushing was 201 tons, which gave 1006 oz amalgam, or C42»z sdwta of retorted gold, In value about £2508 A dividend of la Od per share has been declared, equal to £IBOO. A maikcdadvancement has taken place in Globes, and the mine looks very healthy. Gumheriands have also advanced, and are firmly held ut quoted prices There has been a fair amount of business during the week. (press association.) Dunedin, October 4.
